The Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, F. R. Bigelow Foundation and Mardag Foundation (the Foundations) have awarded over $9 million to Minnesota nonprofits in their first round of 2023 grantmaking. Grants will support community organizations as they work to launch, expand and sustain their services in the community.
“We are lucky to have the opportunity to work with nonprofit organizations throughout Minnesota that are strongly committed to addressing some of the challenging issues primarily facing our communities of color,” said Tiffany Kong, the Foundation’s director of Community Impact. “It’s been our honor to support community-led organizations that advocate for equity for all Minnesotans.”
The Following Organizations Were Among the Most Recent Grant Recipients:
- Care Clinic was awarded $50,000 by Mardag Foundation to provide access to affordable and linguistically/culturally competent free medical, mental health, legal, social services, and affordable dental care in Red Wing. The clinic provides care to a little over 2,000 Latinx individuals who reside in Goodhue County.
- Hallie Q. Brown Community Center (HQB) was awarded $70,000 in total by the Foundation, Mardag Foundation and F. R. Bigelow to support youth and seniors in the historic Summit-University area. HQB strives to improve the quality of life in our community by providing access to critical human services, fostering and promoting personal growth, and developing community leadership.
