Our Response to COVID-19

this is a winter city landscape

Updated April 16, 2020

At the Mardag Foundation, we support Minnesota nonprofits to remove barriers and create opportunities for low income or traditionally marginalized children, youth and families; older adults with barriers to living independently; and to build capacity of organizations supporting the arts and humanities.

In times of crisis, we recognize that the ways we support our communities need to be flexible and responsive.

Through conversations with community members like you, we are listening, learning and evaluating how we can best support you. We are committed to supporting response and recovery needs related to the COVID-19 global crisis.

In an effort to better serve our community and nonprofit partners, the Foundation is adjusting the grantmaking schedule for the remainder of 2020. Our goal is to distribute grants that support longer term recovery efforts, in addition to providing timely and effective relief.

As of March 30, organizations with a current grant from the Mardag Foundation may use current grant funds to address challenges that have arisen because of the COVID-19 community crisis.

Additionally, current grant applicants may amend their grant applications to address challenges and urgent needs that have arisen because of the COVID-19 community crisis.

If you are interested in making any changes to your current grant or application, please email your program officer.

As decisions are made about grant funding opportunities, updates will be shared through email, social media and on our website. Please take a moment to make sure you are signed up to receive updates from the Foundation.

Thank you for the leadership and support you provide for our communities every day across our state. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner and face these new challenges together.
